Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 14, 2026

Chris Labatt-Simon ("we," "us," or "our") operates labattsimon.com, an AI strategy and automation consulting website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We believe in being straightforward about data practices, so we've written this in plain language rather than dense legalese.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

Contact form submissions. When you fill out a contact form on our site (including the "Request a Strategy Call" form), we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), company name, and your message. This information is stored in our database so we can respond to your inquiry.

Gated document downloads. Some downloadable resources on our blog require an email address before we send you the download link. When you provide your email for a download, we store it and you are opted into our mailing list (more on that below).

Information Collected Automatically

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 collects information such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, referring URLs, general geographic location (city/region level), device type, and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this data. We do not use GA4's advertising features or link analytics data to personally identifiable information.

reCAPTCHA. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to prevent spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google for analysis. This processing is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Blog view counts. We track the number of views on individual blog posts for internal analytics. This is an aggregate count and is not tied to any individual user.

IP addresses. We log IP addresses for rate limiting and security purposes (e.g., preventing abuse of contact forms and API endpoints). These are used for security only and are not combined with other personal data for profiling.

Visitor tracking. We collect basic visit information such as referral source, landing page, and UTM parameters to understand how people find our site. This data helps us improve our marketing efforts and is associated with contact form submissions when provided.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Respond to your inquiries. When you submit a contact form, we use your information to get back to you, typically within a few business hours.
  • Deliver download links. When you request a gated resource, we send the download link to the email address you provide.
  • Send mailing list communications. If you've opted in via a document download, we may occasionally send relevant content about AI strategy, automation, and business operations.
  • Understand site usage. Analytics data helps us understand which content is useful, how visitors navigate the site, and where we can improve.
  • Maintain security. IP-based rate limiting and reCAPTCHA help protect against spam, abuse, and malicious activity.

3. Mailing List & Communications

How you get on the list. You are added to our mailing list when you provide your email address to download a gated resource on the blog. Contact form submissions do not automatically subscribe you to the mailing list.

What to expect. We keep communications minimal and relevant. You won't receive daily emails from us. When we do send something, it will be focused on AI strategy, automation insights, or resources we genuinely think are valuable.

Unsubscribing. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us directly at chris@labattsimon.com and ask to be removed. We will process unsubscribe requests promptly.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Here's what's running on our site:

  • Google Analytics (GA4). Sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These cookies expire after varying periods (up to 2 years). Our GA4 property ID is G-77ZDXXJ8T9.
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3. May set cookies as part of its bot-detection process. This runs on pages with forms.
  • Admin session cookies. If you are an authenticated administrator, a session cookie is used to maintain your login. Regular visitors do not receive this cookie.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking cookies beyond what is described above. We do not participate in ad networks or sell data through cookie-based tracking.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Period. We have never sold personal information to third parties and have no intention of doing so.

We may share information with the following types of service providers, solely for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and serve our website.
  • Email delivery services that send transactional emails (download links, contact confirmations) and mailing list communications on our behalf.
  • Google receives data through Analytics and reCAPTCHA as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business or others.

6. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained indefinitely for relationship management purposes, unless you request deletion.

Download email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings (14 months for user-level data).

IP address logs used for rate limiting are retained for a limited period and then discarded.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete your data. You can request that we delete your personal information from our systems. We will honor deletion requests unless we have a legal obligation to retain certain data.
  • Unsubscribe. You can opt out of our mailing list at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us directly.
  • Correct your data. If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, let us know and we will update it.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at chris@labattsimon.com. We aim to respond to data requests within 30 days.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission.
  • Secure server infrastructure with regular updates.
  • Rate limiting and bot protection on forms and API endpoints.
  • Restricted access to personal data (admin access is limited and password-protected).

While no system is perfectly secure, we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices. If we become aware of a data breach that may affect you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

For significant changes that materially affect how we handle your personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by posting a prominent notice on the site).
